Henry Ford said, “If you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right” and he was correct. Whatever our beliefs are is what our reality will default to.
If we believe we can and all parts of us are congruent with that belief, we will always create results that support our success.
If we believe we can’t, we will always create more proof of that, too.
However, our beliefs are not final. Over the last 50 years, several modalities have given us the tools to be able to update our beliefs from ones that limit us to ones that align us with our most deeply held desires and allow us to manifest them easily.
One of them is Neuro Linguistic Programming, often described as the lost manual of the mind, which if you had it before now, your entire life would have been different.
So what is Neuro Linguistic Programming, aka NLP?
It’s a collection of techniques and tools aimed at understanding a person’s model of the world and then optimizing it for success– its beginnings stem from psychoanalysis, hypnotherapy, and family therapy models. It’s also a basis for understanding the world, people, and how we all process information in different ways to move us through the world in a safe way.
At the most basic level, NLP recognizes that each person has an individual reality in the world due to the fact that we all have different experiences, beliefs, programs, values, memories, attitudes, ways of using and interpreting language, and other filters we use to simplify our perception of an earthly experience that by nature is rich and confusing.
By understanding our own filters and those of others, we can understand the various perceptions of reality and see that everyone is valid in their experience based on their background and interpretation.
Essentially, with NLP we can see why and how someone is having the experience they are having, which when you think about it, allows us to be more understanding and allowing of one another.
For coaches, teachers, therapists, healers, and anyone working with people, NLP is a powerful tool that is unmatched to date, because it teaches clients to have an objective view of how they got to where they are, and it allows practitioners to have deep, meaningful, and effective conversations that get to the root of the problem, rather than dancing around it.
NLP is a modality that changes the way we think, the way we communicate, and the way we move through this world from feeling at odds with everything to feeling in flow with life.
It has far reaching effects on clients and practitioners as well as everyone connected to them.
